Maori Inspired Pattern

A pattern designed based on the Maori tribe of New Zealand. Bird feathers were commonly employed to create traditional garments worn during the 'kapa haka' or cultural dance of the Maori people. Black, white, red and yellow were colors most often utilized in this art form.

Postmodernism Magazine Spread by Allison Brown

I took inspiration for my design from the postmodernism period. My article discusses individuals suffering from eating disorders.

Amnesty Poster

This poster serves to raise awareness to the extreme measures of internet censorship that the Chinese government enforces. The three major search engine companies, Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo!, have all willingly complied with the Chinese government to revoke the first amendment rights of the country's people.

I utilized a pixelated font with backslashes and underscores to reinforce the computer-related theme, and then took a screenshot of the logo that appears when a picture is missing on a computer, and scaled it up to achieve the pixelation. This coupled with excessive negative space and extremely minimalist design compliment the subject of internet censorship.

Maori Inspired Logo Types

Logo ideas for a fictitious music group inspired by the Maori tribe of New Zealand.

Magazine Spread

I created this spread with post-modernism in mind, relying heavily on breaking the conventions of typography to achieve a look that represents that era of design.

College Choices

This design was inspired by the many collages I found when I researched post modernism. Each page will be designed around one of the letters of the word "college". The spread will be focused on choices students can make during and after college.
